The closest replacement for Sora 2's strengths: native audio, the best dialogue and faces in our test, and Veo clips free in Google Vids (10/month).

Tied for first overall and won our physics test. Kling 4.0 launched on October 16, 2026 with clips up to 30 s. We haven't tested 4.0 yet.

Is Sora shut down?
Yes. OpenAI discontinued the Sora web and app experience on April 26, 2026, and shut down the Sora 2 Videos API on September 24, 2026, with no replacement model listed (OpenAI Help Center and API deprecations page).
What is the best Sora alternative?

Which Sora alternative has audio?
