Is Veo 3.1 worth it?
Yes, if quality matters more than price. Veo 3.1 Fast, the version we tested, scored 7.2/10 in our October 2026 test, tied for #1 with Kling 3.0. It beat all three other models head to head and won the most prompts outright (5 of 11). At $0.60 per 4-second clip it was also the most expensive.
Same 11 prompts for every model, 4 s at 720p, one generation each, scored blind. Prices are what we actually paid per clip through the Runway Dev API. How we test.
